Matchweek 5 is now completed with this weekend’s fixtures again being played over three days between Friday 18th September and Sunday 20th September and this will be the final round of fixtures before the extended International Break over the next two weeks.

Kit Highlights
Brighton & Hove Albion wore a special kit this weekend to celebrate their 125th Anniversary, inspired by the kit they first wore in 1901. The Kit was originally launched in May 2026, and has tonal detailing to give it that classic look. It’s yet to be confirmed if this is the only time we will see this kit this season.
Three teams wore change kits for the first time this weekend, Chelsea, Liverpool and Hull City.
Chelsea have worn an alternative Home Kit look in the opening game of the season, however this was the first time they moved away from their blue shirts, Liverpool wore their Away Kit in it’s default look with red shorts and Hull City wore their 3rd Kit after launching it last week.
There have been 3 teams that have now worn 4 different Kit looks in their opening 5 games, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United.
Brighton have worn, Home, Away (with Home Socks), 3rd and 125th Anniversary Kit
Manchester United have worn Home, Home with white socks, 3rd and debuted their Away in Premier League this weekend.
Aston Villa have worn, Home, Away with white shorts & socks, 3rd with white socks and Home with Claret socks at Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Arsenal wore their 4th different Goalkeeper Kit of the season, wearing the Grey Adidas Template for the first time, this is registered as their first choice Goalkeeper ths season.
My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Newcastle United and Hull City, the Newcastle home kit is one of my favourite kits for the season and paired up with Hull’s 3rd kit (in its debut) was as nice match up!

Overall we have seen 13 Home Kits, 4 Away, 2 Third Kits and 1 Special Kit in action.
There were two Kit Variations used in this Matchweek
- Aston Villa – Home with alternative claret socks
- Ipswich Town – Away with alternative “ecru” socks, 2nd time used

AFC Bournemouth have launched a dedicated European Kit to celebrate their first ever venture in European competitions, they received a lot of critism for their sponsor size / colour for their domestic home kit, something the club have addressed and made a commitment to improve next season, click here for more details.
This kit was likely already in production after these complaints so no changes could be made!
We now have a bit of break, with International Football taking centre stage for the next two weeks and Premier League Returns on weekend of 10th October 2026, but stay tuned for new articles during this time.
