Premier League: Matchweek 38, Kit Review

And that’s it. The Premier League is over for the season after these final round of games, as always the final round was played on a single day with all matches kicking off at the same time on Sunday 24th May.

They are the return fixtures of the round of fixtures played in Matchweek 9, played back on 24th to 26th October.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 38 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 108 (+2 New Kits this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 75 (+2 New Kit this Matchweek)

Liverpool wore their new 2026 / 27 Home Kit

Manchester City in their new 26 / 27 Home Kit

Both clubs also wore their new goalkeeper kits of 2026 / 27.

Kit Highlights

Manchester United wore their new Home Kit for the 2nd game in a row, not often seen when a club releases at new kit at the end of the season.

Liverpool using their new Home Kit, made 4 kit looks in the last 4 games, with 2 different Home Kits and 2 different Away Kit variations used in those 4 games.

Everton wore their Home Kit with alternative blue shorts for the 8th time Away from home this season, the most used kit variation in Premier League this season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Manchester City and Aston Villa, Man Cty wearing their new Home Kit, which I think is quite a nice look, something a little and paired with All Claret look of Aston Villa, one of my favourite single kit looks of the season.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 2 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variation used in this Matchweek.

  • Aston Villa, Home in All Claret, 5th time used
  • Everton, Home in All Blue, 8th time used

Kit Grid – Up to 26th May (Final Grid)

Kit News

Manchester City launched their 2026 / 27 Home Kit, wita full gradient of sky blue and finished with a metallic monochrome crest, it is described as “Running through a full gradient of sky blue” and “not your typical home kit – it’s a nod to how far we’ve come and how much further we’re going”.

Crystal Palace annouced their new front of shirt sponsor, with open-source software platform Temporal agreeing a multi-year deal starting from 2026 / 27 season. This is another example of club moving away from a front of shirt betting sponsors.

Brighton & Hove Albion released their 125th Anniversay Shirt, which is based on their first ever colours. The club confirmed the Kit will be worn once, that willl be the home game closest to the anniversary of their first competitive fixture.

The Premier League is in it’s final month, and after these games are the penultimate round of games, with teams playing their final Home games of the season. Due to the FA Cup Final on Saturday 16th May between Chelsea and Manchester City, this Matchweek was played across five days from Friday 15th May to Tuesday 19th May 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the round of fixtures played in Matchweek 10, played back on 1st to 3rd November.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 37 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 106 (+1 New Kits this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 73 (+1 New Kit this Matchweek)

There was just the one new kit in the penultimate round of fixtures!

Manchester United debuted their 2026 / 27 Home Kit

Along with their kit from next, the New Adidas Goalkeeper template was also used.

Manchester United, Black / Charcoal Adidas Template

Kit Highlights

Manchester United used their 11th Different Kit Look of the season, with their first use of the 26 / 27 Home Kit. This includes 4 different Home Kit looks, 3 Away and 4 3rd Kit variation. They become the highest in Premier League in terms of Kit looks used/ They also used their 6th Different Goalkeeper Kit.

Crystal Palace wore their 3rd Kit for the 2nd game in a row, this also means they have worn change kits in 4 of the last 5 games.

There were two variations of Away Kits used this Matchweek and both worn for just the 2nd time this season, Nottingham Forest wore alternative navy shorts and Liverpool wore alternative black socks.

Manchester City wore their much maligned 3rd Kit for the final time this season, this was the 4th time they have worn this kit in the last 7 games.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, mainly due to Spurs’ interesting decision to wear their 3rd Kit at Chelsea, a fixture they do not often use change kits for, but seeing this Kit one final time for the season works for me!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 3 Away and 5 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variation used in this Matchweek.

  • Liverpool – Away with alternative blacks socks, 2nd time used
  • Nottingham Forsest – Away with alternative navy shorts, 2nd time used

Kit Grid – Up to 19th May

Kit News

Manchester United become the first team to launch their 2026/27 Kit (as teased in last weeks post). The Kit was released on 14th May and first worn in their Home game on 17th May 2026, the Kit is inspired by the kits worn in the 70s and in particular the 1977 kit, which they won the FA Cup, 50 years ago next year.

They were followed by Arsenal who launched their new Home Kit Friday 15th May and celebrated 20 Years at The Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool became the 3rd Adidas team to launch their new kit, launched on 19th May the much leaked kit was confirmed, the kit based on the 1989 / 90 title winning kit and contains flashes of white within the shirt to replicate that classic look.

There are plenty of leaks coming for next seasons kits and I am sure we will see a few more of these in the final week of the season, so watch this space as these are officallly confirmed.

Premier League: Matchweek 36, Kit Review

The Premier League is in it’s final month, and after these games clubs have just two round rounds of games to go. This Matchweek was played across three days from Saturday 9th May and Monday 11th May 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the round of fixtures played in Matchweek 7, played back on 3rd / 5th October.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 36 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 105 (+2 New Kits this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 72 (+1 New Kit this Matchweek)

Aston Villa in 3rd Kit with alternative purple socks.

Manchester United in 3rd Kit with alternative yellow shorts.

Manchester United also wore the yellow Adidas Trefoil Goalkeeper template for the first time.

Kit Highlights

This week saw the first new kit looks since Matchweek 30, on 15th March 2026, nearly 2 months ago.

Aston Villa wore their 10th Kit Variation of the season, and by using their 3rd Kit with alternative purple socks they completed all four possible kit looks with their 3rd Kit. They have now worn 3 Different Home and Away Kits and the 4 3rd Kits to make the 10 Kit looks.

Manchester United also made it 10 Kit Variations this season, to be joint highest with Aston Villa and just like Villa they done this by wearing their final possible Kit look with their 3rd Kit. Their 10 looks are also made up of 3 Home and Away Kits and 4 3rd Kits.

Manchester United also wore a new Goalkeeper Kit look in this game, the 5th overall Goalkeeper Kit used this season and the 2nd in Trefoil template.

Everton wore their Away Kit in it’s default look for just the 2nd time this season, the first time being in Matchweek 14 back on 2nd December.

Arsenal wore a chanage kit for the first time in 10 games, they wore their 3rd Kit with alternative dark red socks for the second time this season, it also means that all three of the Adidas Trefoil kits on show this weekend were in alternatives from their default looks.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Burnley and Aston Villa, regular readers and followers will know my love of a contrasting sock within a kit, so when Aston Villa wheeled out their 10th Kit look of the season with their 3rd Kit including purple socks, this was always going to be a winner, the match up with Burnley’s Home Kit works well.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 1 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There was the three Kit variation used in this Matchweek.

  • Aston Villa – 3rd with alternative purple socks
  • Manchester United – 3rd with alternative yellow shorts
  • Arsenal – 3rd with alternative dark red socks

Kit Grid – Up to 12th May

Kit News

It appears we will be getting our first new kit launch of the 2026 / 27 season, with Manchester United teasing this on Monday 11th May, with launch on Thursday 14th May 2026.

There are plenty of leaks coming for next seasons kits and I am sure we will see a few of these in the final weeks of the season, so watch this space as these are officallly confirmed.

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 103 (No New Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 71 (+1 New Kits this Matchweek)

There were no new kits this Matchweek.

Kit Highlights

Tottenham Hotspur are not having a season to remember but they have now won 11 points whilst wearing their Away Kit, this is the joint 2nd highest points in an Away kit in Premier League this season, with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in their 6 games!

Everton wore a change kit for the first time in 10 games, wearing their Away Kit with alternative navy socks at West Ham United.

Nottingham Forest wore their 3rd Kit in its default look for just the 2nd time this season at Sunderland.

Manchester United wore a charity sponsor this matchweek, (RED) is a charity that looks to help support the global fight against health injustice. The shirts are available for purchase, along with some other Manchester United x (RED) apparel. The Clubs Women’s team also carried the logo in their game this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea. The Chelsea 3rd kit with it’s blue accent details worked nicely as a match up with the blue of Brighton.

There were no new kit looks on show this weekend, there is still one game to play but it is unlikely we will see a new look used by Manchester City or Crystal Palace.

Kit Highlights

Manchester United have now worn 6 different kit looks in their last 6 Away games, with 3 Away looks, 2 Home and 1 3rd Kit in these games, dating back to 7th January.

Chelsea lost their first game in the league in their Away Kit this season, this was 6th time they have worn the kit (in 3 different variations).

Nottingham Forest have now worn their Home Kit in 8 games in a row (twice with alternative red shorts), the longest current Kit-Streak.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Bournemouth and Manchester United, as regular readers will know the Bournemouth Home kit is one of my favourite of the season and matched against the Manchester United with alternative white shorts was a good match up!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 14 Home Kits, 4 Away and no Third Kits in action (still one game to be played)

There three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Manchester United – Away with alternative white shorts, 3rd time used

There was one new kit look used in this round of fixtures:

Manchester United who their 9th Kit Variation of the season, the highest now in Premier League this season, having worn three variations of their three kits.

They have also now worn four different Kit Looks in their last 4 games.

Nottingham Forest have worn their Home Kit in 6 games in a row, they have worn red shorts in 2 of these games but this is the longest current run of a team in their Home Kit.

Arsenal won their 15th Game in their Home Kit in the Premier League this season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Aston Villa and Chelsea, Chelsea’s 3rd kit has n been under-used this season, with this just the 3rd time used in Premier League this season, and the match up with Villa’s home kit worked well.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 16 Home Kits, 1 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

The Premier League returns quickly for another round of mid-week fixtures before the weekend’s FA Cup games, with these matches played across three days on Tuesday 10th February and Thursday 12th February 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the second round of fixtures played in Matchweek 14 , which was the first round of mid-week games this season on between the 2nd and 4th December 2025.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 26 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 101 (+2 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 69 (+ New Kits this Matchweek)

There were two new kit looks on show these matches.

Leeds United in Home Kit with Away Socks.

Arsenal in Away Kit with alternative grey shorts and socks.

Kit Highlights

And there we have it, the 100 Kit Looks used this season, with Leeds United use of Home Kit with Away Socks being the 100th Kit in the 251st Game of the season, this was quicker than last season (292 Games).

This also means we continue to see a new kit look every match week this season, the breakdown below shows this in more detail!

Leeds United in their 4th Different Kit Variation of the Season and their first “Mash Up”

Arsenal were in their 6th Kit look of the season, and their 3rd different Away Kit look, although this look has been used in Champions League this season, this is the first time in Premier League.

Newcastle United, Manchester United and Liverpool all wore variations of change kits for the 2nd time this season in these games. All looks were changing to matching shorts and socks (and of course Adidas Kits), add to that the similar look of Arsenal (although this was the first time that variation was used in Premier League).

AFC Bournemouth were first team to wear an outfield field kit for the 20th time this season, Manchester City also reached this number in this Matchweek but due the fixture scheduling, Bournemouth reached 20 first!

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Sunderland and Liverpool, this was only the third time we have seen Liverpool’s wonderful 3rd Kit in action in Premier League this season, and paired up against Sunderland Home Kit gave us a lovely Kit Match Up in these mid-week games!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 13 Home Kits, 3 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were five Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Leeds United – Home with Away socks
  • Newcastle United – 3rd with alternative orange shorts & socks, 2nd time used
  • Manchester United – Away with alternative purple socks, 2nd time used
  • Liverpool – 3rd with alternative white socks, 2nd time used
  • Arsenal – Away with alternative grey shorts & socks

The Premier League welcomes Friday Night Football for the first time since 24th October in Matchweek 9, with these games played across three days on Friday 6th February and Sunday 8th February 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the fixtures played in Matchweek 11 , on the weekend of 8th and 9th November 2025.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 25 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 99 (+1 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 69 (+1 New Kits this Matchweek)

There was just the one new kit looks on show these matches.

West Ham United wore alternative navy socks with their Away Kit.

There was also one new Goalkeeper Kit look, with Aston Villa using the Yellow Version of the Trefoil Template for the first time this season.

Kit Highlights

We are closing in on 100 Kit Looks used this season, with the one new look this weekend that takes up to 99…

1 more kit look to go and we continue to see at least one new kit look every match week this season, the breakdown below shows this in more detail!

West Ham United were in their 7th Kit Variation of the season, with 3 Home Kit Looks, 3 Away (see below) and a single 3rd Kit used so far this season. This is the joint second highest along with Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa used their 5th different Goalkeeper look of the season, with the use of the yellow Trefoil Template Kit, the other teams to use this kit, Arsenal and Newcastle United are the two other teams that have used at least 5 Different Goalkeeper Kits (Arsenal – 6, Newcastle United – 5).

Everton have worn 4 different Kit Looks in their last 4 games, Away Kit (with Navy Socks), Home Kit, 3rd Kit and Home with Blue shorts worn in this time.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Spurs wearing their Away Kit at Old Trafford is something although not common, we have seen before (2021 / 22 was the last time it was done), but using their 3rd Kit worked quite nicely.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 13 Home Kits, 3 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were four Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Nottingham Forest – Home with alternative red shorts, 2nd time used
  • West Ham United – Away with alternative navy socks
  • Everton – Home with alternative blue shorts, 4th time used
  • Chelsea – Away with alternative socks, 2nd time used

The Premier League played its fourth round of fixtures in 2026 , with these games played across three days on Saturday 24th January and Monday 26th January 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the opening weekend of the season games played in Matchweek 1, played on the weekend of 15th to 18th August 2025.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 23 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 97 (+3 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 68 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There were three new kit looks on show these matches.

Liverpool wore their Away Kit with alternative “Ecru” shorts

Nottingham Forest wore their 3rd Kit with alternative fluro orange socks

Chelsea wore their Away Kit in its default look for the first time.

Kit Highlights

We are closing in on 100 Kit Looks used this season, with 3 New Looks this weekend that takes up to 97… just 3 more looks to go!

Nottingham Forest wore their 7th Different Kit Look of the season, using their 2nd different 3rd Kit look, with 2 Home Kit and 3 Away Kits variations previously used.

Liverpool were in their 6th Different Look of the season, with their 3rd different Away Kit, changing shorts is not something Liverpool have done in the past, but with a change to Adidas this season, this is the second different example of alternative shorts being worn with all green used at Burnley in Matchweek 4.

Chelsea are another team to make it 6 Different Kit Looks this season, with their 3rd different Away Kit look, they used their Away Kit in it’s default look for the first time in Premier League this season, having used it in Club World Cup… we will see the alternative green shorts and socks look used in Premier League to complete the set, they have worn the look in Carabao Cup this season already!

Arsenal lost their first game of the season in their Home Kit, the loss to Manchester United was their 15th match of the season in their first choice look.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Brentford and Nottingham Forest, the use of the alternative socks really worked well with the Forest 3rd Kit, this was also the match up of the week in the reverse fixture, so maybe one of the best paired teams of the season so far in terms of kits!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 11 Home Kits, 3 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Liverpool – Away with alternative Ecru Shorts
  • Nottingham Forest – 3rd with alternative Fluro Orange socks
  • Manchester United – 3rd with alternative Yellow socks, 2nd time used

Kit Grid – Up to 27th January

The Premier League has now seen two rounds of games in the New Year and these were the final round of nine games in just over a six weeks, with these midweek fixtures played across three days on Tuesday 6th January and Thursday 8th January 2026.

They are the second set of return fixtures this season, with these previous games being played in Matchweek 3, played on the weekend of 30th / 31st August 2025.

You can find last round of fixtures report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 21 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 92 (+1 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 66 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There was one new kit looks on show these matches.

Manchester United wore their Away Kit in it’s default look for the first time this season.

Kit Highlights

Nottingham Forest wore alternative navy shorts and socks with their Away for the second time in two games in a row, their victory at West Ham United also means they have now scored 11 points in their Away Kit, the first team to score double figure points in their Away Kit (and as it stands the kit they have won the most points in this season, only won 10 in their Home Kit).

Manchester United have now worn 8 Different Kit Variations this season, with their Away Kit being worn in its default look being the 3rd different Away Kit look, coupled with 2 Home Kit looks and 3 3rd Kit variations used this season, this is the joint highest in Premier League so far this season (with Aston Villa).

Tottenham Hotspur have now worn their 3rd Kit 5 times in the last 8 games, these all in just over a month.

Aston Villa wore their 3rd Kit (in it’s default look) against Crystal Palace, this meant it was 4 different kit looks in the last 4 games, having worn Home with Claret socks at Chelsea, Away with white socks at Arsenal, Home Kit against Nottingham Forest and then the 3rd Kit at Palace!

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Arsenal and Liverpool, a classic looking Liverpool Away Kit gave us a Kit Match up that harks back to the 90s, and I am all for it!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 5 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Nottingham Forest – Away with alternative navy shorts / socks, 2nd time used
  • Chelsea – Home, All Blue, 2nd time used

Kit Grid – Up to 9th January

Kit News

Newcastle United and Adidas have reissued their classic 1995 / 96 Away Shirt, but for me it’s the training wear that they are also launching, with the team donning this classic sweatshirt in training this week. The full range is being released on 13th January.
