And we are back!!
The 2026/27 Premier League Season has now kicked off and for the fourth season in a row, I will be taking a more in depth look into the Kits each Matchweek, along with any relevant Premier League Kit News!
The opening weekend gave us games across the whole weekend, kicking off on Friday 21st August to Monday 24th August 2026.

We have 53 out of 60 Kits released so far… with just 7 Teams left to officially release their final Kits, watch this space for those updates.

Of course all kits this week are being used for the first time this season, more details will appear in this section as we move through the season and new kit looks / variations are used.
Kit Highlights
The season kicked off on Friday 21st August with reigning champions Arsenal kicking off against newly promoted Coventry City, Arsenal wore a combination of their Home Kit carryiing the regular Adidas Logo and their Away Goalkeeper kit which has the Adidas Trefoil logo!
Tottenham Hotspur provided the first Kit “Mash Up” of the season, wearing their Home Socks (white) with their Away Kit, you can see the THFC Monogram on the back of the socks… Teams at Brentford often produce alternative looks and we have kicked off the season in the same vein.
An interesting change to the Liverpool Goalkeeper kit in this opening game at Newcastle United, white socks were used (appear to change socks from Liverpool’s 3rd Kit), was it just the clash of green and black Newcastle socks or given that the Outfield and Goalkeeper kits have similar looks I wonder if we will see white socks used to support red/green colourblindness in fans, supporters and viewers…. one to keep a look out for as we move through the season!
Hull City returned to Premier League this season, and in doing so means we have now seen Oxen Kits in the Top Flight for the first time, during the close season we were lucky enough to be able to Interview Oxen CEO Lee Jenkinson for The Football Kit Podcast, you can listen to that Episode here which included plenty of chat about this Hull City Kit.
Aston Villa were another team that went for an alternative look to kick off the season, using alternative white shorts and socks with their Away kit, the socks so the banded detail nicely match in the shirts collar and cuffs.
There was a nice tribute from Newcastle United and Liverpool, who both wore “Keegan 7” as part of their warm up shirts, Kevin Keegan who passed away in July played for both clubs wore his iconic number 7 in tribute.
My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Arsenal and Coventry City, it was great seeing Coventry kicking off this Premier League season in their retro inspired Home Kit (one of the best in the League this season in my eyes) and paired with Arsenal’s Home Kit gave us a nice looking match up to start the season.

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 4 Away and 1 Third Kit in action.

- Tottenham Hotspur – Away with Home (white) socks
- Aston Villa – Away with alternative white shorts & socks
- Chelsea – Home with alternative blue socks
