The Premier League played its fourth round of fixtures in 2026 , with these games played across three days on Saturday 24th January and Monday 26th January 2026.

They are the return fixtures of the opening weekend of the season games played in Matchweek 1, played on the weekend of 15th to 18th August 2025.

Matchweek 23 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 97 (+3 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 68 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There were three new kit looks on show these matches.

Liverpool wore their Away Kit with alternative “Ecru” shorts

Nottingham Forest wore their 3rd Kit with alternative fluro orange socks

Chelsea wore their Away Kit in its default look for the first time.

Kit Highlights

We are closing in on 100 Kit Looks used this season, with 3 New Looks this weekend that takes up to 97… just 3 more looks to go!

Nottingham Forest wore their 7th Different Kit Look of the season, using their 2nd different 3rd Kit look, with 2 Home Kit and 3 Away Kits variations previously used.

Liverpool were in their 6th Different Look of the season, with their 3rd different Away Kit, changing shorts is not something Liverpool have done in the past, but with a change to Adidas this season, this is the second different example of alternative shorts being worn with all green used at Burnley in Matchweek 4.

Chelsea are another team to make it 6 Different Kit Looks this season, with their 3rd different Away Kit look, they used their Away Kit in it’s default look for the first time in Premier League this season, having used it in Club World Cup… we will see the alternative green shorts and socks look used in Premier League to complete the set, they have worn the look in Carabao Cup this season already!

Arsenal lost their first game of the season in their Home Kit, the loss to Manchester United was their 15th match of the season in their first choice look.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Brentford and Nottingham Forest, the use of the alternative socks really worked well with the Forest 3rd Kit, this was also the match up of the week in the reverse fixture, so maybe one of the best paired teams of the season so far in terms of kits!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 11 Home Kits, 3 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Liverpool – Away with alternative Ecru Shorts
Nottingham Forest – 3rd with alternative Fluro Orange socks
Manchester United – 3rd with alternative Yellow socks, 2nd time used

There was no significant news this past week involving Premier League Kit News, some leaks from next season are being seen but we will wait until official confirmation before sharing these details.

For the second time we are seeing the expanded Champions League have it’s final fixtures in January, with the seventh round of fixtures being played on Tuesday 20th January and Wednesday 21st January 2026.

The 2 new kits this week were the following:

AS Monaco in their Away

Pafos in 3rd Kit with Away socks

Kit Highlights

Bayer Leverkusen remain the only team to wear a single kit look in this phase of the competition.

AS Monaco wore a change kit for the first time in this season’s Champions League, having worn 3 different Home Kit looks in their previous 6 games. This then being their 4th different kit look, the joint most so far this season.

Manchester City wore their 4th Kit for the 3rd time, they have now worn this kit has much as their Home Kit in the competition this season.

Newcastle United wore an alternative Home Kit look at Home against PSV Eindhoven, wearing white shorts and socks.

Benfica have only worn their Home Kit in the competition so far this season, they wore alternative red shorts for the 2nd time playing Juventus.

My favourite Kit Match of the week was the game between Sporting CP and PSG, the PSG 3rd Kit is one of my favourite kit looks of the season, combined with the classic Sporting look was always going to be a great Kit Match up.

The Premier League returns after last weekend’s FA Cup 3rd Round Games, with these fixtures played across three days on Saturday 17th January and Monday 19th January 2026.

They are the second set of return fixtures this season, with these previous games being played in Matchweek 4, played on the weekend of 13th / 14th September 2025.

There were two new kit looks on show these matches.

West Ham United wore their Home with alternative claret socks.

Arsenal wore their Away Kit with alternative grey socks.

There were two new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Burnley – Pink
Newcastle United – Pink Adidas Trefoil Template

Kit Highlights

West Ham United wore their 6th Kit Variation of the season, and their 3rd different Home Kit look. Along with 2 different Away Kit looks and a single 3rd Kit.

Arsenal wore their 5th different Kit variation of the season, with the 2nd different Away Look this weekend… they have now worn, 1 Home Kit, 2 Away and 2 3rd Kit Looks!

Interestingly they shared on their Social Media the reason for the change of socks, with Premier League making the request due to impacts of colour blind supporters.

There were two new Goalkeeper looks this weekend, they were both Pink Kits with Burnley using their 3rd choice Goalkeeper Kit for the first time and Newcastle United in the Pink version of the Trefoil Keeper’s Template (their 5th Different Goalkeeper look used this season so far).

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United, Newcastle’s 3rd kit gave a nice balance with the “Old Gold” Wolves shirts.

Overall we have seen 14 Home Kits, 3 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

West Ham United – Home with alternative claret socks
Arsenal – Away with alternative grey socks
Everton – Away with alternative navy socks, 3rd time used

A couple of Premier League Teams wore special Kits in last weekend’s FA Cup Games.

Tottenham Hotspur wore a commemorative kit, celebrating their 1901 FA Cup win.

Everton wore a 4th Kit, it is unclear whether this kit will be seen in the Premier League this season.

The Premier League has now seen two rounds of games in the New Year and these were the final round of nine games in just over a six weeks, with these midweek fixtures played across three days on Tuesday 6th January and Thursday 8th January 2026.

They are the second set of return fixtures this season, with these previous games being played in Matchweek 3, played on the weekend of 30th / 31st August 2025.

Matchweek 21 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 92 (+1 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 66 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There was one new kit looks on show these matches.

Manchester United wore their Away Kit in it’s default look for the first time this season.

Kit Highlights

Nottingham Forest wore alternative navy shorts and socks with their Away for the second time in two games in a row, their victory at West Ham United also means they have now scored 11 points in their Away Kit, the first team to score double figure points in their Away Kit (and as it stands the kit they have won the most points in this season, only won 10 in their Home Kit).

Manchester United have now worn 8 Different Kit Variations this season, with their Away Kit being worn in its default look being the 3rd different Away Kit look, coupled with 2 Home Kit looks and 3 3rd Kit variations used this season, this is the joint highest in Premier League so far this season (with Aston Villa).

Tottenham Hotspur have now worn their 3rd Kit 5 times in the last 8 games, these all in just over a month.

Aston Villa wore their 3rd Kit (in it’s default look) against Crystal Palace, this meant it was 4 different kit looks in the last 4 games, having worn Home with Claret socks at Chelsea, Away with white socks at Arsenal, Home Kit against Nottingham Forest and then the 3rd Kit at Palace!

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Arsenal and Liverpool, a classic looking Liverpool Away Kit gave us a Kit Match up that harks back to the 90s, and I am all for it!

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 5 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Nottingham Forest – Away with alternative navy shorts / socks, 2nd time used
Chelsea – Home, All Blue, 2nd time used

Newcastle United and Adidas have reissued their classic 1995 / 96 Away Shirt, but for me it’s the training wear that they are also launching, with the team donning this classic sweatshirt in training this week. The full range is being released on 13th January.

The Heat Press: My Top 5 Shirts of 2025

Our friends over at They Think Kits All Over released their Top 50 Shirts of 2025 Podcast Episode earlier this week, where they ask their followers to send across their Top 5 (in order) which they then collate and create a list of the Top 50 shirts… with many other people sharing their Top Shirt Lists, I thought I would share mine which I submitted to the TTKAO gang!

So queue the countdown music, here are my favourite 5 Shirts of the year!

Number 5 – Hamburg SV Home

My countdown starts with HSV’s 2025 / 26 Home Shirt, as we see with most seasons now there is a look back to past, and this template has also been used by Club America in Mexico but this version in Hamburg’s Tri-Colour combination was my favourite and a great example of retro done right as based on 1994 / 95 3rd Kit.

Number 4 – Swansea City 3rd

Gulf colours are one of the most iconic colour schemes in sport, so when Swansea City built on the success of their commemorative fourth kit from the 2023 / 24 season, when the Gulf logo featured on the front of the Swansea City shirt celebrating the 30th anniversary of their Autoglass Trophy win, the third kit went fully in on the Gulf colours of racing blue and orange.

Number 3 – SSC Napoli 3rd

Brown Kits often be seen in “worst” shirt lists, you the one I mean… so this Napoli choice is a brave one in terms of colour but paired with the light blue detailing and logos just works wonderfully well. We discussed this kit in Episode 35 of The Football Kit Podcast and I called it out then as my favourite Kit from Serie A this season.

Number 2 – Germany 125th Anniversary Shirt

There were so many wonderful Anniversary Shirts from Adidas this season, this list easily could have been made up of the 5 shirts from that “Family”, however I decided I would only include one shirt and that one was the Germany 125th Anniversary Shirt. One of the most elegantly beautiful shirts of this century, and does exactly what you want an Anniversary shirt to do… a special call out the blue goalkeeper version as well (which I purchased, in long sleeve of course).

Number 1 – Port Vale Home

So my Number 1 was Port Vale’s Home Shirt, another Anniversary shirt, this time celebrating 150 Years of the club, with its retro club crest, no sponsor, it just looks amazing and when you take the whole Kit into consideration for me it is Kit Perfection. This Puma template is one the best templates of the season as well, with several clubs have great shirts with it but this one is the stand out in my eyes and my favourite shirt of 2025.

Well that’s it, My Top 5 Shirts of 2025 but I am just one single voice and would love to know what you think and what made your Top 5’s!

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Nottingham Forest wore their Away Kit with alternative navy shorts and socks

Burnley wore their Home Kit with Away socks

Kit Highlights

For the second Matchweek in a row, 17 Teams wore their Home Kit, with 15 in default look and 2 in alternative Home Kit Looks.

Nottingham Forest wore their 6th Different Kit Look of the season so far, this was their 3rd different Away Kit variation.

Burnley wore their 5th different Kit Variation of the season, there are the only team in the Premier League this season to use “Kit Mash” up and now they have done it twice, having worn Away Kit with Home socks at West Ham United, this weekend they wore Home Kit with Away Socks at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brentford wore their Home Kit in an Away game for the first time this season, in their 10th Away Match of the campaign.

A couple of interesting Kit notes from Newcastle United this weekend…

Firstly, Fabian Schär marked his 250th appearance for the club with a special detail on his match shirt.

Secondly, Nick Pope wore their 3rd Choice Goalkeeper Kit, the yellow Trefoil Template, this is the first time that we have seen this template used when the team are NOT wearing their 3rd Kit (other teams have worn same colour in standard and Trefoil Templates to get around this).

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between AFC Bournemouth and Arsenal, the Bournemouth Home Kit is one of my favourite this season, and paired with a classic looking Arsenal 3rd Kit gave us a nice overall match up and balance!

Overall we have seen 17 Home Kits, 2 Away and 1 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Nottingham Forest – Away with alternative navy shorts / socks
Burnley – Home with Away socks

Happy New Year to all you readers and followers out there….

The Premier League hits the New Year and this also marks the half way point of the season, and these were the seventh round games of nine over a six week period, with the fixtures played across 2025 and 2026 different this year being completed on Tuesday 30th December 2025 and Thursday 1st January 2026.

They were also the first set of return fixtures, with these previous games being played in Matchweek 15, earlier this month!

Matchweek 19 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 89 (+1 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 66 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There was one new kit looks on show in these fixtures

Aston Villa wore their Away Kit with white alternative socks.

Kit Highlights

There were 17 Teams in these round of fixtures to wear their Home Kit, this was the most home kits seen in a single “Matchweek” so far this season.

Aston Villa wore their 8th Kit Variation of the season, this is highest now in the Premier League. They have worn 3 Different Home Kit looks, 3 Different Away Kit and 2 Different 3rd Kits.

They have also worn 4 different Kit Looks in their last 4 games!

Newcastle United wore white socks their blue goalkeeper kit for the 3rd time this season, in this case this was due to Burnley’s sky blue socks.

Tottenham Hotspur have now worn their 3rd Kit (Nike T90) four times in the last six games, all within the last month.

There was a nice symmetry with the game between Nottingham Forest and Everton, Everton in All blue this week was aligned with Forest in All Red when the two meet just a few weeks ago.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, not a lot going on in these fixtures, so went for this one purely for the good contrast between the Kits, should Wolves have worn their 3rd Kit, well we would not be here if these things did not happen, so its all okay with me.

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Manchester United wore their Away Kit with alternative purple socks

Nottingham Forest wore their 3rd Kit for the first time in Premier League this season.

Kit Highlights

Manchester United wore their 7th Kit Variation of the season, the joint highest (with their opponents of the day Aston Villa). They have now worn 2 Home Kits, 2 Away Kits and 3 Third Kits.

Nottingham Forest wore their 5th Kit Variation of the Season, wearing their 3rd Kit for the first time in Domestic Football this season, only previously wearing it in Europa League.

This also means that all 20 Premier League Teams have now worn their Home, Away and 3rd Kits this season!

Tottenham Hotspur wore a charity sponsor in their game with Liverpool, this was part of their main shirt sponsor AIA’s Children’s Cancer in Thailand charity campaign.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Manchester City and West Ham United, with West Ham in “All Claret look works nicely with this current Home Shirt.

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 2 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.
