Adidas – World Cup ’26, International Kits

In terms of qualifying the “Road to World Cup 2026” is well underway, however the real start of World Cup Fever kicked off this week with Adidas launching this International Kits for the next two year cycle, so lets take a closer look at some of these kits and just for fun I have rated them!

Germany – Let’s kick off with one of the most anticipated kits, with this being the final Adidas Kit for it’s Home Nation for the foreseeable future (never say never). For me it does not disappoint and is one of the best kits of this launch, a look taking inspiration from 1990 and 1994 World Cup’s, this is going to be a hit for fans and football shirt collectors, and the long sleeve version is simply wonderful… and check the socks out, they will not disappoint!

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Argentina – World Cup holders Argentina have a thick stripe to this shirt, the thicker Adidas Stripes (as you can see on all shirts) being black take a little some focus away from the overall look of the shirt, especially as the stripes are blue in the shorts, overall it’s OK but for me should have been better.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Spain – This is my favourite of the Adidas kits launched, a Spain shirt with a twist. The use of dark blue raglan sleeves here works really well, the Adidas stripes in the traditional Spanish colours are fantastic and are the only Country that have this take to the “3 Stripes”, the pinstripe in the body of the shirt is just subtle enough that lifts the overall look…

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Italy – Italy have not qualified for the World Cup since Adidas has supplied their kits, so this (as long as they do qualify this time around) will be the first time The “Azzurri” have donned the 3 Stripes at this stage. Again another kit that is passable but the gold detailing does not work for me, especially with the opportunity to use the three stripes in the Italian Flag colours.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐

Belgium – Belgium shirts often use different shades of red, this time is a vibrant red, paired with black and yellow detailing in collars, cuffs give a nice overall look to this kit, black shorts and socks as well and this is one of the nicest overall looks from this launch.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mexico – Returning to Green as Primary colour (as standard within World Cup Cycles), this shirt is another looking back to the 90s, with this “Aztec” pattern in the body of the shirt. Nice use of red / white within the collars and cuffs gives a nice balance to what is ticks all the boxes of what you would expect form a Mexico Shirt, but overall my least favourite of the shirts we are looking at here.

Kit Geek Rating

Japan – Adidas and Japan is often a partnership that delivers, although this shirt is fairly simple in it’s design compared to some recent years, it works in it elegance, some nice design elements, I would have like to have seen the cuffs with red / white trim (as the collar) but overall a solid kit.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Colombia – A fairly standard looking kit for Colombia, the use of red Adidas stripes and then just the blue trim within the collar and cuffs works very well in my eyes. Interesting pattern within the shirt which are “butterfly motifs inspired by magical realism”, this adds some depth to overall look.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Wales – With many kits looking to the 90s, its refreshing in some ways to see a kit that looks to the 80’s, with this Wales kit. Again using green as one of the accent colours works well and lifts the kit from standard template to something with a bespoke feel. The central chest band design element is great and this one of the few shirts that has National Crest and Adidas Logo centrally placed.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sweden – I like this one, and is inspired by the 70’s (apparently). The pattern in the shirt is inspired by the “popular flower stitching found on jeans and traditional Swedish folk dresses from the era”. What works for me is the use of blue across the shoulders, not going full raglan but this use of colour and then with the white Adidas stripes works well in my eyes.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Peru – The Peru kit is one that is difficult to much with given it’s iconic sash, this is a solid effort with some detailing with sash itself that is nice but the choice of design in the overall sash, making it blocky may take some getting used too, maybe they were inspired by my kit illustrations which use this look with sash shirts (of course not!).

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Scotland – Adidas and Scotland is another one of the relationships that just feels right and I have really liked the kits produced in the 15 years they have been in partnership. This one is another great shirt, with a really nice subtle “Saltire” within the shirt’s body. My only complaint with the kit is the that this look is all Navy Blue, I preference is seeing Scotland in white shorts and red socks.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Algeria – The Algeria shirt is another kit that uses colours of it’s flag within the collar and cuffs, this use of green and red really lifts the shirt in my eyes. An interesting pattern with the shirt and certainly helps raise the overall look away from a standard looking template.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Costa Rica – There is plenty going on here, a vibrant looking shirt with pink detailing being inspired by “Guaria Morada orchid”, the country’s national flower. I think this shirt will prove very popular with Kit Lovers next summer, and one we will see a lot of.

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Northern Ireland – This is an interesting design, there is blend of green tones with a pattern inspired by the “transatlantic ships traditionally built in Belfast’s shipyards”. The look creates a halved shirt, something a little different in International Football Shirts, so I am all for those choices. Matched with green shorts and white socks, so as regular readers will know I love a contrasting sock look!

Kit Geek Rating ⭐⭐⭐

There we have it, the build up to the World Cup has started, Any thoughts and comments about these Adidas Kits please let me know over at my Socials…

Six teams have just worn a single kit look in the four games so far – Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt, Moncao, Real Madrid and Villarreal.

Sporting CP, who by wearing their Away Kit against Juventus means that they have now worn four different kits in their opening four games. This was also the first time Juventus have worn their Home Kit in this season’s competition.

Galatasaray are another team that made it four kit looks in four games, with them wearing their 3rd Kits at Ajax.

Inter Milan wore their 3rd Kit at Home against Kairat, this was their 3rd different Kit look of the competition

Overall, there have been 13 Clubs that have worn 3 different kit looks in their opening 4 games and 15 Teams that have worn just 2 kits.

My favourite Kit Match of the week was the game between Olympiacos and PSV Eindhoven, a nice balance of kit colours and with the red and white detailing in the PSV kit gives a nice look to their Away Kit.

Premier League: Matchweek 10, Kit Overview

The Premier League has now past the quarter stage of the season and we are taking our usual look at the Kits worn this weekend, Saturday 1st November to Monday 3rd November 2025.

You can find last week’s report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 10 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 69 (+3 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 62 (+3 Kits this Matchweek)

New Kits this Matchweek

There were three new kit looks on show this weekend.

Manchester United, 3rd Kit with alternative yellow socks.

Chelsea in their Home Kit with alternative blue socks.

Aston Villa in their 3rd Kit

There was also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Leeds United – Pink Adidas Template
  • Arsenal – Yellow Adidas Trefoil Template
  • Aston Villa – Black Adidas Trefoil Template

Kit Highlights

This weekend seven of the Away teams wore 3rd Kits, with only one Away Kit and two Home Kits on show, with Chelsea wearing an alternative look with blue socks.

Arsenal used their 6th different Goalkeeper Kit look of the season (10 games), wearing the yellow Trefoil Template, this was the 3rd different colour goalkeeper kit used in their 3rd Kits three outings and the 2nd different yellow goalkeeper kit used.

Wolverhampton Wanderers used their 3rd Kit for 3rd time this season, also having used their Away Kit once, this means they have worn change kits for as many times as they did in total last season in their opening 10 games of the season.

AFC Bournemouth lost their first game of the season in their Home Kit, this was the 8th game (out of 10) wearing the Kit winning five and drawing two of the first seven games using this look, they were also the only Away team to wear their default Home Kit this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, two nice looking kits and with Manchester United in contrasting socks (as regular readers will know one of my favourite kit looks), this was always going to be a winner this week.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 1 Away and 7 Third Kit in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Manchester United – 3rd, with alternative yellow socks
  • Chelsea – Home, with alternative blue socks

Kit Grid – Up to 4th November

Champions League 25/26: Match 3, Kit Review

Slightly delayed here is my look at Matchweek 3 of Champions League, completed on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd October.

The current Kit Overview for Kits worn by The Champions League Teams.

This gives 107 of the 108 Kits of the 36 Teams, but there will be more thanks to a 4th Kits / Cup Kits that we will see in use over the coming months!

Match 3 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 71
  • 10 New Kits used this Matchweek

New Kits this Matchweek

There were 10 new kits this week:

  • Olympiacos – Away
  • Pafos – 3rd
  • Atletico Mardid – Away
  • PSG – 3rd
  • Inter Milan – Away
  • Manchester City – 4th
  • Galatasaray – Home / Away Shorts
  • Bodø/Glimt – Away
  • Ajax – 3rd / Alternative dark blue socks
  • Sporting CP – 4th

Kit Highlights

There are eight teams that have worn three different kits in their opening three games of Champions League – Ajax, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Manchester City, Olympiacos, Pafos, PSG and Sporting CP.

Nine teams have just worn a single kit look in the three games so far – Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Chelsea, Copenhagen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Kairat, Moncao, Real Madrid and Villarreal.

This was the Matchweek where we saw the use of 4th Kits for the first time this season, however for two very different reasons..

Manchester City’s 4th Kit is in collaboration with EA SPORTS FC.

Sporting CP’s 4th Kit was a Charity Kit raising awareness for Brest Cancer for Pink October.

Galatasaray wore a nice variation of their Home Kit, which was paired with their white Away shorts.

Juventus are yet to wear their Home Kit in the competition so far this season, having worn their 3rd twice (including once at Home) and Away Kit.

PSG are one of the teams to make it three kits in three games, with their 3rd Kit, which is my favourite of the T90 Nike 3rd Kits this season.

My favourite Kit Match of the week was the game between Chelsea and Ajax, as regular followers will know I do enjoy a contrasting sock colour with a kit look, so both teams going for this was always going to be a match up I enjoyed.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen the following kits…

  • 21 Home Kits
  • 5 Away Kits
  • 6 3rd Kits
  • 2 “Cup” Kit
  • 2 4th Kits

There were just two Kit Variations seen this week…

  • Galatasaray – Home, with white (Away) shorts
  • Ajax – 3rd, with alternative dark blue socks

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 9 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 66 (+3 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 59 (+3 Kits this Matchweek)

New Kits this Matchweek

There were three new kit looks on show this weekend.

West Ham United, in an all claret look for their Home Kit.

Liverpool wore their 3rd Kit with alternative white socks.

Manchester City wore their 3rd Kit for the first time.

There was also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Fulham – Orange Adidas Template
  • Brighton & Hove Albion – Yellow Nike Template
  • Crystal Palace – Grey Macron Template

Kit Highlights

Liverpool in their 4th Kit Variation of the season and their 2nd different look for their 3rd Kit and have yet to use the default look in Premier League (they have used in Champions League).

They also used the standard Adidas Goalkeeper kit (yellow template) rather than a Trefoil Goalkeeper Kit.

Crystal Palace continue to wear change kits in all of their away games this season, having worn their Gold Kit in four games and All White Kit in one game.

West Ham’s all claret look means they have worn four different kit looks in their last four games.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Newcastle United and Fulham, Fulham’s 3rd Kit this season is an interesting look, and the all fluro green look worked well matched against Newcastle’s Home Kit.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 2 Away and 3 Third Kit in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek, one Home, one Away and one 3rd.

  • West Ham United – Home, All Claret
  • Liverpool – 3rd, with alternative white socks
  • Fulham – Away, with alternative fluro green shorts & socks – 3rd time used.

Kit News

The first “Winter Ball” from Puma was launched in the past week, the yellow ball will get it’s first use in weekend of 8th November, with the game between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur being the first game to use the ball.

The Adidas and Arsenal relationship continues to look to the past to offer supporters alternative equipment with the release a remake of the 1992/94 Home Shirt, the shirt is accompanied with a range of other products.

New Kits this Matchweek

It was a bumper weekend of new kit looks, with 7 teams sporting a kit look they have not used this season

Chelsea, wore their Away kit with alternative shorts (green) and socks (cream).

Everton wore their 3rd Kit.

Bournemouth, another team in their 3rd kit for first time this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers wore their Away Kit for the first time.

Arsenal also in their Away for the first time this season in the Premier League.

There were also four new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Newcastle United – Purple Adidas Template

Aston Villa, who had 13 different Kit Looks last season have hitting the ground running in repeating that feat this season, with their 5th Kit look of the season in Premier League’s 8 games so far! This was their 3rd different Home Kit look.

Arsenal are leading the front on the Goalkeeper Kit looks, they have worn their 5th different Goalkeeper Kit this season, with their 2nd different Green Kit worn at Fulham.

Everton wore a change Kit for the first time this season, in the 8th Game.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between West Ham United and Brentford, the two kits making a great match up against each other.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 5 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were four Kit variations used in this Matchweek, three of which were Away Kits.

  • Aston Villa – Home, with alternative claret socks

Kit News

Manchester City have launched a “Special” Kit in collaboration with EA SPORTS FC, for those fans purchasing the kit will be able to use the club crest to unlock exclusive items within the game. The kit will get some match action, as it will be worn by the Men’s team in the Champions League away fixtures, debuting against Villarreal on 21st October, and by the Women’s team in domestic fixtures throughout the season.

The Adidas Trefoil Kits which have been club’s 3rd Kits over the past two seasons are rumoured to be changing to Away Kits for next season, this ties in with use of the Trefoil for Away Kits in next summer’s World Cup.

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 7 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 56 (+1 Kit this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 52 (+3 Kits this Matchweek)

New Kits this Matchweek

We had just the one new Kit look on show this Matchweek.

Crystal Palace wore their “Away” Kit for the first time this season.

There were also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Arsenal – Purple Adidas Template
  • Aston Villa – Pink Adidas Template
  • Crystal Palace – Orange Macron Template

Kit Highlights

Arsenal become the 3rd team to use four different Goalkeeper Kits this season, having worn the purple standard Adidas template against West Ham United.

Everton continue to be their streak of not wearing a change kit yet this season, granted they were playing at Home this weekend but is all 7 games this season in their Home Kit (wearing all Blue in opening match of the season at Leeds United)

This game also saw Crystal Palace an alternative goalkeeper kit for the first time this season, having worn first choice green goalkeeper kit for the first six games.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Bournemouth and Fulham, with Bournemouth’s Home kit being on the of the Kits of the season in Premier League (well apart from Sponsor) and Fulham in their wonderful retro inspired Away kit with alternative shorts / socks.

HOT OFF THE PRESS UPDATE – Thank you to Rich for calling this out to me in the comments below

Brighton & Hove Albion have changed the colour of the nameset worn with their Away Kit, having worn white in it’s first appearance at Everton, this was switched to the more visible black against Wolve.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 13 Home Kits, 5 Away and 2 Third Kit in action.

There was just the one Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Fulham – Away, with alternative fluro green shorts & socks – 2nd time used

Kit News

It was another European week last week, Aston Villa playing in The Netherlands against Feyenoord, and due to the local laws around sponsorship it meant Villa wore their own charity foundation on the front of their shirts in this game.

  • Athletic Bilbao – Home / White shorts
  • Manchester City – Away
  • Napoli – Home
  • Sporting CP – Home
  • Juventus – Away

Kit Highlights

As called out by The Football Kit Podcast Galatasaray’s shirt mirrored the shirts worn by the mascots in the pre-game line up.

Slavia Prague wore a “mash up” against Inter Milan, using their Home (white) socks with their 3rd Kit (who’s default socks are pale blue), for an all white look.

Holders PSG are using their current Away Kit for a second season, however this is the first time it has been used in the Champions League, having just worn Home and 4th Kits in victorious campaign last season.

Juventus are the only club not to wear their Home (or Cup) Kit yet in their opening two games, after wearing their 3rd Kit in their Home game last match week, they wore their Away at Villarreal.

There were 11 teams that have worn the same kit (Home or Cup) in the opening two games, meaning over 70% of clubs wore different kits in the two appearances so far.

5 Teams, Athletic Bilbao, Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle United, Sporting CP and Union Saint-Gilloise have worn their Home (or Cup) Kit in opening two games in two different variations wearing alternative shorts (and socks in Newcastle’s case) with their Home Kit.

My favourite Kit Match of the week was the game between Borussia Dortmund and Athletic Bilbao, this season’s Cup kit for Dortmund is a simple classic looking kit, paired with Athletic Club wearing alternative white shorts with their Home Kit gave a wonderful looking match up.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen the following kits…

  • 23 Home Kits
  • 6 Away Kits
  • 5 3rd Kits
  • 2 “Cup” Kit

Kit Variations seen this week…

The Premier League is now starting to feel in full swing, we are now 6 Matches into the season, so its our weekly look into the kits worn this weekend.

You can find last week’s report here

The Kit Overview for Premier League is below:

Matchweek 6 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

  • Kits Worn in Total – 55 (+5 Kits this Matchweek)
  • Goalkeeper Kits – 49 (+4 Kits this Matchweek)

New Kits this Matchweek

There were 5 new Kit looks on show this Matchweek

Manchester United wore their 3rd kit for the first time, using alternative yellow shorts and socks.

Brighton & Hove Albion in their 3rd Kit (last season’s Away).

Liverpool in their Away Kit.

Burnley in their 3rd Kit for the first time this season.

Sunderland in their Away Kit

There was also four new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Brighton & Hove Albion – Black Nike Template
  • Liverpool – Yellow Adidas Template
  • Manchester United – Pink Adidas Trefoil Template
  • West Ham United – Orange Umbro Template

Kit Highlights

Brighton & Hove Albion wore a “3rd” Kit in the first time in the Premier League for the first time since 2023 / 24 Season, where they wore their 3rd Kit against Newcastle United.

Liverpool wore their fourth different Goalkeeper Kit of the season, using the yellow Adidas Template Kit, however unlike the other teams using this template, it was used with a black nameset, not red.

Everton remain the only team not to wear a change kit yet this season, having worn their Home in their opening 6 games, 5 times in it’s default look and once with blue shorts.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, something classical looking about “Red v Blue” with both teams in white shorts, and given it was Ryder Cup weekend, this was the game for me!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 13 Home Kits, 3 Away and 4 Third Kit in action.

There was just the one Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

  • Manchester United – 3rd, with alternative yellow shorts & socks

Kit Grid – Up to 30th September

New Kits this Matchweek

There were 5 new Kit looks on show this Matchweek

Newcastle United wore their Away Kit with alternative white socks.

Aston Villa in their Away Kit with alternative white shorts.

There was also 5 new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

  • Chelsea – Green Nike Template
  • Liverpool – Grey Adidas Template
  • Nottingham Forest – Orange Adidas Template
  • Tottenham Hotspur – Pink Nike Template
  • West Ham United – White / Black Shorts & Socks
  • Manchester City – Green Puma Template

Kit Highlights

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are leading the way in the number of kits used this season, both clubs wearing four kit variations in the opening five games.

Tottenham Hotspur wore their 4th different Goalkeeper look of the five games so far, rumours of delivery issues of their new kit at the start season meant they used last season’s yellow template in the first game of the season, and by using the pink version of the current Nike Goalkeeper selection meant they have used their three kits from this season now, so four kits used in total.

West Ham United wore their 3rd choice goalkeeper kit this weekend and its a rare sight nowadays, as its a kit with constrasting shorts and socks, rather than the single colour look that we normally see with Keepers!

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Liverpool and Everton, two classic looking home kits for the Merseyside Rivals this season, so seeing them up against each other was a pleasing Kit Match up!

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 14 Home Kits, 5 Away and 1 Third Kit in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek, both the new kits we saw used this weekend.

  • Aston Villa – Away, with alternative white shorts
  • Newcastle United – Away, with alternative white socks

Kit Grid – Up to 21st September
