Matchweek 16 of the 2025 / 26 Premier League Season delivered an early Christmas gift for this Kit Geek.

For the first time since I have been keeping detailed Kit Usage records (2016 / 17) Season every team playing away from Home wore a change kit in a single Matchweek, that’s a first in over 350 Matchweeks and 3,500 games!

There were Six Away Kits and Four 3rd Kits used by the Ten Clubs

I thought it would be worth documenting and calling out in case we do not see this again for another 10 years, you can find the full Matchweek Report here

Matchweek 16 (2025 / 26)

Saturday 13th December, there were four fixtures.

Everton wore their Away Kit with alternative navy socks at Chelsea, this was the first time this look has been used this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion who wore their Away Kit for the 3rd Time so far this season at Liverpool.

Fulham wore their Away Kit against Burnley, they were also the 2nd team to use an alternative variation this weekend with an Away, wearing alternative fluro green shorts and socks, for an all Fluro Look worn for 4th time this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers used their Away Kit for the 3rd time so far this season at Arsenal, and in doing so have worn change kits in more games this season than 24 / 25 Season.

Sunday 14th December, there were five games due to European Football played the previous week.

Manchester City wore their much maligned 3rd Kit at Crystal Palace, the 2nd time it has been used so far.

Tottenham Hotspur were another team in their 3rd Kit, wearing their Yellow T90 Nike Template Kit at Nottingham Forest, just the 2nd time worn in the League this season so far!

Newcastle United played the “Tyne-Wear Derby” at Sunderland in their Adidas Trefoil 3rd Kit, the third time they have used this kit this season but second time in it’s default All Navy Look.

Aston Villa were another team in their Adidas Trefoil 3rd Kit, however this was alternative look used for the first time this weekend, with alternative purple short and socks at West Ham United.

Leeds United wore their Away Kit at Brentford, this was third time this season so far that they had worn this all season and was the only Away Kit used on Sunday.

Monday 15th December was the final game of this Historic Matchweek

AFC Bournemouth wore their Away kit for the third time as well at Manchester United, in what ended up being the game of the weekend with a thrilling 4-4 draw!

Again, something I have never seen since documenting the Kits worn in the Premier League, so wanted to call it out in a little more detail!

The Premier League is rapidly closing in the half way point of the season, and these were the fifth round games of eight within over a six week period, with these games completed between Saturday 13th December and Monday 15th December 2025.

Matchweek 16 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 84 (+2 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 65 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Everton wore their Away Kit with alternative navy socks.

Aston Villa wore their 3rd Kit with alternative purple shorts and socks

Kit Highlights

All Away teams this week wore a change kit, with 6 Away Kits used and 4 3rd Kits. This is the first time this has happened since I started keeping Kit Records, from 2016 / 17 Season, so at least for 10 seasons!

Aston Villa wore their 7th Kit Variation of the season, this is the most by a team in Premier League, with 3 Home Kits, 2 Away and 2 3rd Kit looks used. It is 9 in total with variations used in Carabao Cup and Europa League not yet seen in the league.

Wolverhampton Wanderers wore a change kit for the 5th time this season (x3 Away / x2 3rd), this is more uses of change kits than they had in total last season (just 4).

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Brentford and Leeds United, the two kits matching up worked well with both goods in contrast to each other.

Overall we have seen 10 Home Kits, 6 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Everton – Away with alternative Navy Socks
Fulham – Away, all Fluro Green, 4th time used
Aston Villa – 3rd with alternative Purple shorts & socks.

AFC Bournemouth have announced that Vitality will become the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor from the 2026 / 27 season. They have been a sponsor of the club for over 10 years, with Stadium being named “Vitality Stadium” since 2015. This is a multi-year partnership and the first of example of a club moving away from front of shirt betting sponsorship from next season.

We are now three quarters of the way the League Phase of the Champions League this season, the sixth round of fixtures being played on Tuesday 9th December and Wednesday 10th December 2025, the final Champions League games of this calendar year.

The 7 new kits this week were the following:

AS Monaco – Home with white socks
Slavia Prague – Away
FC Copenhagen – Away
Newcastle United – Away with alternative white socks
Napoli – Euro Away with alternative blue shorts
Bodø/Glimt – 3rd

Kit Highlights

100 Kits has been hit this match week, and it’s 105 Kits used in 108 games in total.

Bayer Leverkusen are the only team to wear just a single kit look in the six games.

Eintracht Frankfurt wore a change kit for the first time in the competition this season.

AS Monaco wore their 3rd different kit look, all of the being Home Kits with different combinations of red / white shorts and socks, they wore white shorts and socks at Home to Galatasaray.

Manchester City used their 4th Kit for the 2nd time in the competition in their game at Real Madrid.

There are ten teams that have now worn four kit looks in the opening six games, Galatasaray and Sporting CP (who used four in four games), Ajax, Athletic Club, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Newcastle United, PSG and Union Saint-Gilloise

My favourite Kit Match of the week was the game between PSV and Atletico Madrid, a nice contrast of kits and the Atletico 3rd Kit is a wonderful example of the current T90 Nike 3rd Kits.

There were four new kit looks on show this weekend.

Arsenal wore alternative dark red socks with their 3rd Kit.

Chelsea wore their Away with alternative socks for the first time in Premier League this season, having this look already in League Cup and Champions League.

Nottingham Forest wore red shorts, for their “All Red” Home Kit look.

Manchester United wore their 3rd Kit in it’s default look for the first time.

Kit Highlights

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest wore their 4th Kit Looks of the season.

Chelsea wore their 5th Kit look, they become the 7th team to have used at least that many looks so far this season (4 Teams in 5 Kits, 3 Teams in 6 Kits), this was also their 4th Kit Look in last 4 games!

Manchester United are now one of 3 teams who have worn 6 Kit Variations, with 3 of these being their 3rd Kit which they wore in it’s default look for the first time.

Brentford continue their run of wearing change kits in all of their Away games so far this season, having worn both Away and 3rd Kits now 4 times in their 8 Away games.

Newcastle United wore their blue Adidas Goalkeeper Template with white socks for the 2nd time this season, first doing so in the opening game of the season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Everton and Nottingham Forest, Forest in “All Red” is one of my favourite Kit Loves, so anytime this happens its always going to be a winner in my eyes.

Overall we have seen 16 Home Kits, 2 Away and 2 Third Kits in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

There were two new kits on show this weekend.

Everton wore their Away Kit for the first time this season/

Tottenham Hotspur wore their 3rd Kit for the first time in the Premier League.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used in these games:

Chelsea – Fluro Yellow, Nike Total 90 Goalkeeper Template

Kit Highlights

No team this week wore their default Home Kit in an Away game, the only team to wear their Home Kit was Aston Villa and they did this in “All Claret” against Brighton & Hove Albion.

There was 5 Away Kits used and 4 3rd Kits.

Chelsea wore their 4th Goalkeeper Kit of the season, and the first time we have seen the “Total 90” Keeper Template in Premier League this season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, the Total 90 3rd Kit Templates look good, so seeing the Spurs one for the first time in the League was always going to be a winner here.

Overall we have seen 11 Home Kits, 5 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek, all Away Kits.

There were three new kits on show this weekend.

Newcastle United wore their Away Kit with alternative green shorts and alternative white socks.

Fulham wore their 3rd Kit for the first time this season.

Liverpool wore their Away Kit with alternative black socks.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Manchester United – Yellow Adidas Template

Kit Highlights

Newcastle United wore their 6th Kit Variation of the season, the joint highest in the Premier League of the season, this was also the 3rd different look used for their Away Kit!

Both Fulham and Liverpool wore their 5th Different Kit looks of the season this weekend, Fulham wore their 3rd Kit for the first time and Liverpool wore a second different variation of their Away, with alternative Black Socks.

Manchester United made it 4 different Goalkeeper Kits in their last 4 games, with the use of the Yellow Adidas Template, this games was also the first defeat for Crystal Palace in their Home Kit this season.

Sunderland remain undefeated in their Home Kit this season, winning 5 and drawing 3 of the 8 games it has been worn in total.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Sunderland and Bournemouth, who used their wonderful Away Kit for just the second time this season, having worn it in the opening game of the season.

Brentford have launched a special-edition shirt in collaboration with the band Hard-Fi, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the group’s Stars of CCTV album, the band’s frontman Richard Archer is a Brentford fan and season ticket holder. It has also been confirmed that the club will NOT wear this shirt in a game.

We are still waiting for news confirming the Chelsea / Oracle Front of shirt sponsorship, watch this space for updates.

There was just the one new Kit on show this weekend.

West Ham United wore their Away Kit with alternative “Ecru” shorts.

Kit Highlights

West Ham United in their 5th Kit Variation of the season, this is the joint-second highest in Premier League this season (Aston Villa in 6, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also with 5).

Crystal Palace wore their Home Kit in an Away Game for the first time this season, this was their 6th Away game of the season, wearing their 3rd Kit in four games and Away once!

Brentford continue to wear change kits in all their Away games this season, wearing their Away for the 3rd time this season, having worn their 3rd kit in their other 3 Away games.

Chelsea wore their Away for the 2nd time this season and again with alternative shorts and socks, they have yet to wear this kit in it’s default look (“Ecru” shorts / Green socks) in any competition including the World Club Cup, which is 8 games in total.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Leeds United and Aston Villa, Villa in All Claret is one of my favourite kit looks, so when this is used it will always be one I keep an eye on!

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 4 Away and 1 Third Kit in action.

There were four Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Chelsea – Away, with alternative shorts / socks – 2nd time used
West Ham United – Away with alternative shorts

Everton – Home, All Blue – 2nd time used

The Chelsea front of shirt sponsorship has been an interesting topic over the past few seasons with them carrying no sponsor in the majority of the games over this period, however that appears to be changing in the coming days with rumours of a deal with Oracle (US Software company). It has been reported that sponsorship will start as quick as next with high profile games against Barcelona in Champions League and Liverpool in Premier League – full details can be found here via Footy Headlines

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Fulham wore alternative black shorts with their Home Kit.

Burnley wore their Away Kit with Home socks for an all Sky Blue look.

Newcastle United 3rd Kit with alternative orange shorts and socks.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Manchester United – Green Adidas Template

Kit Highlights

Fulham wore their 3rd different Home Kit look of the season (4th overall), with alternative black shorts at Everton.. they have worn their default (All White) look six times and with alternative black socks once.

Burnley’s Green Goalkeeper kit becomes the first kit to be worn 10 times this season, having been worn in 10 of the 11 opening games of the season. Overall Burnley worn their 4th Kit of the season this weekend, having worn a mash up of Away with Home Socks.

Crystal Palace and Sunderland both remain undefeated in their Home Kits this season so far, with Sunderland wearing their Home look in 7 games (4 wins / 3 draws) and Crystal Palace in 6 games (2 wins / 4 draws) – Arsenal are also unbeaten in their Home Kit but did not wear it this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Sunderland and Arsenal, the Arsenal Away with it’s red trim give a nice overall balance to the kit looks on show.

Overall we have seen 14 Home Kits, 3 Away and 3 Third Kit in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Fulham – Home, with alternative Black Shorts
Burnley – Away with Home socks

For Remembrance Day 2025 Sunderland will use a bespoke warm-up shirt that pays tribute and proceeds from each shirt sold will be donated to each of three partner charities

There were three new kit looks on show this weekend.

Manchester United, 3rd Kit with alternative yellow socks.

Chelsea in their Home Kit with alternative blue socks.

Aston Villa in their 3rd Kit

There was also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Leeds United – Pink Adidas Template
Arsenal – Yellow Adidas Trefoil Template
Aston Villa – Black Adidas Trefoil Template

Kit Highlights

This weekend seven of the Away teams wore 3rd Kits, with only one Away Kit and two Home Kits on show, with Chelsea wearing an alternative look with blue socks.

Arsenal used their 6th different Goalkeeper Kit look of the season (10 games), wearing the yellow Trefoil Template, this was the 3rd different colour goalkeeper kit used in their 3rd Kits three outings and the 2nd different yellow goalkeeper kit used.

Wolverhampton Wanderers used their 3rd Kit for 3rd time this season, also having used their Away Kit once, this means they have worn change kits for as many times as they did in total last season in their opening 10 games of the season.

AFC Bournemouth lost their first game of the season in their Home Kit, this was the 8th game (out of 10) wearing the Kit winning five and drawing two of the first seven games using this look, they were also the only Away team to wear their default Home Kit this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, two nice looking kits and with Manchester United in contrasting socks (as regular readers will know one of my favourite kit looks), this was always going to be a winner this week.

Overall we have seen 12 Home Kits, 1 Away and 7 Third Kit in action.

There were two Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Manchester United – 3rd, with alternative yellow socks

The Premier League is approaching the quarter stage of the season and we are taking our usual look at the Kits worn this weekend, Friday 24th October to Sunday 26th October 2025.

Matchweek 9 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 66 (+3 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 59 (+3 Kits this Matchweek)

New Kits this Matchweek

There were three new kit looks on show this weekend.

West Ham United, in an all claret look for their Home Kit.

Liverpool wore their 3rd Kit with alternative white socks.

Manchester City wore their 3rd Kit for the first time.

There was also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Fulham – Orange Adidas Template
Brighton & Hove Albion – Yellow Nike Template
Crystal Palace – Grey Macron Template

Kit Highlights

Liverpool in their 4th Kit Variation of the season and their 2nd different look for their 3rd Kit and have yet to use the default look in Premier League (they have used in Champions League).

They also used the standard Adidas Goalkeeper kit (yellow template) rather than a Trefoil Goalkeeper Kit.

Crystal Palace continue to wear change kits in all of their away games this season, having worn their Gold Kit in four games and All White Kit in one game.

West Ham’s all claret look means they have worn four different kit looks in their last four games.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Newcastle United and Fulham, Fulham’s 3rd Kit this season is an interesting look, and the all fluro green look worked well matched against Newcastle’s Home Kit.

Kit Stats

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 2 Away and 3 Third Kit in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek, one Home, one Away and one 3rd.

West Ham United – Home, All Claret
Liverpool – 3rd, with alternative white socks
Fulham – Away, with alternative fluro green shorts & socks – 3rd time used.

The first “Winter Ball” from Puma was launched in the past week, the yellow ball will get it’s first use in weekend of 8th November, with the game between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur being the first game to use the ball.

The Adidas and Arsenal relationship continues to look to the past to offer supporters alternative equipment with the release a remake of the 1992/94 Home Shirt, the shirt is accompanied with a range of other products.
