The Premier League hits the New Year and we are officially in the second half of the season, and these were the eighth round games of nine over a six week period, with the fixtures played across two days on Saturday 3rd January and Sunday 4th January 2026.

Matchweek 20 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 91 (+2 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 66 (No New Kits this Matchweek)

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Nottingham Forest wore their Away Kit with alternative navy shorts and socks

Burnley wore their Home Kit with Away socks

Kit Highlights

For the second Matchweek in a row, 17 Teams wore their Home Kit, with 15 in default look and 2 in alternative Home Kit Looks.

Nottingham Forest wore their 6th Different Kit Look of the season so far, this was their 3rd different Away Kit variation.

Burnley wore their 5th different Kit Variation of the season, there are the only team in the Premier League this season to use “Kit Mash” up and now they have done it twice, having worn Away Kit with Home socks at West Ham United, this weekend they wore Home Kit with Away Socks at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brentford wore their Home Kit in an Away game for the first time this season, in their 10th Away Match of the campaign.

A couple of interesting Kit notes from Newcastle United this weekend…

Firstly, Fabian Schär marked his 250th appearance for the club with a special detail on his match shirt.

Secondly, Nick Pope wore their 3rd Choice Goalkeeper Kit, the yellow Trefoil Template, this is the first time that we have seen this template used when the team are NOT wearing their 3rd Kit (other teams have worn same colour in standard and Trefoil Templates to get around this).

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between AFC Bournemouth and Arsenal, the Bournemouth Home Kit is one of my favourite this season, and paired with a classic looking Arsenal 3rd Kit gave us a nice overall match up and balance!

Overall we have seen 17 Home Kits, 2 Away and 1 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Nottingham Forest – Away with alternative navy shorts / socks

The Premier League is rapidly closing in the half way point of the season, and these were the seventh round games of nine over a six week period, with the “Boxing Day” fixtures looking different this year being completed between Friday 26th December and Sunday 28th December 2025.

Matchweek 18 Fixtures

Total Kits Used

Kits Worn in Total – 88 (+2 Kit this Matchweek)
Goalkeeper Kits – 66 (+1 New Kits this Matchweek)

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Newcastle United wore white socks with their Home Kit.

Fulham wore their Home shirt with alternative black shorts and socks.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Sunderland – Black Goalkeeper Kit (Pink / Cyan Detailing)

Kit Highlights

Newcastle United have now worn 7 Kit looks this season, the joint highest in Premier League (with Aston Villa & Manchester United), wearing 2 Home, 3 Away and 2 3rd Kit Variations.

Fulham wore their 6th Kit Look of the season, this now includes Home Kit in all White / Black Combinations.

Tottenham Hotspur have worn their 3rd Kit for the last three Away Games in a row.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Chelsea and Aston Villa, Villa in alternative claret socks gave this match up a nice overall balance.

There were four Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Manchester United wore their Away Kit with alternative purple socks

Nottingham Forest wore their 3rd Kit for the first time in Premier League this season.

Kit Highlights

Manchester United wore their 7th Kit Variation of the season, the joint highest (with their opponents of the day Aston Villa). They have now worn 2 Home Kits, 2 Away Kits and 3 Third Kits.

Nottingham Forest wore their 5th Kit Variation of the Season, wearing their 3rd Kit for the first time in Domestic Football this season, only previously wearing it in Europa League.

This also means that all 20 Premier League Teams have now worn their Home, Away and 3rd Kits this season!

Tottenham Hotspur wore a charity sponsor in their game with Liverpool, this was part of their main shirt sponsor AIA’s Children’s Cancer in Thailand charity campaign.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Manchester City and West Ham United, with West Ham in “All Claret look works nicely with this current Home Shirt.

Overall we have seen 15 Home Kits, 2 Away and 3 Third Kits in action.

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Everton wore their Away Kit with alternative navy socks.

Aston Villa wore their 3rd Kit with alternative purple shorts and socks

Kit Highlights

All Away teams this week wore a change kit, with 6 Away Kits used and 4 3rd Kits. This is the first time this has happened since I started keeping Kit Records, from 2016 / 17 Season, so at least for 10 seasons!

Aston Villa wore their 7th Kit Variation of the season, this is the most by a team in Premier League, with 3 Home Kits, 2 Away and 2 3rd Kit looks used. It is 9 in total with variations used in Carabao Cup and Europa League not yet seen in the league.

Wolverhampton Wanderers wore a change kit for the 5th time this season (x3 Away / x2 3rd), this is more uses of change kits than they had in total last season (just 4).

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Brentford and Leeds United, the two kits matching up worked well with both goods in contrast to each other.

Overall we have seen 10 Home Kits, 6 Away and 4 Third Kits in action.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek.

Everton – Away with alternative Navy Socks
Fulham – Away, all Fluro Green, 4th time used
Aston Villa – 3rd with alternative Purple shorts & socks.

AFC Bournemouth have announced that Vitality will become the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor from the 2026 / 27 season. They have been a sponsor of the club for over 10 years, with Stadium being named “Vitality Stadium” since 2015. This is a multi-year partnership and the first of example of a club moving away from front of shirt betting sponsorship from next season.

Matchweek 15 Fixtures

There were four new kit looks on show this weekend.

Arsenal wore alternative dark red socks with their 3rd Kit.

Chelsea wore their Away with alternative socks for the first time in Premier League this season, having this look already in League Cup and Champions League.

Nottingham Forest wore red shorts, for their “All Red” Home Kit look.

Manchester United wore their 3rd Kit in it’s default look for the first time.

Kit Highlights

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest wore their 4th Kit Looks of the season.

Chelsea wore their 5th Kit look, they become the 7th team to have used at least that many looks so far this season (4 Teams in 5 Kits, 3 Teams in 6 Kits), this was also their 4th Kit Look in last 4 games!

Manchester United are now one of 3 teams who have worn 6 Kit Variations, with 3 of these being their 3rd Kit which they wore in it’s default look for the first time.

Brentford continue their run of wearing change kits in all of their Away games so far this season, having worn both Away and 3rd Kits now 4 times in their 8 Away games.

Newcastle United wore their blue Adidas Goalkeeper Template with white socks for the 2nd time this season, first doing so in the opening game of the season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Everton and Nottingham Forest, Forest in “All Red” is one of my favourite Kit Loves, so anytime this happens its always going to be a winner in my eyes.

Overall we have seen 16 Home Kits, 2 Away and 2 Third Kits in action.

There were two new kits on show this weekend.

Everton wore their Away Kit for the first time this season/

Tottenham Hotspur wore their 3rd Kit for the first time in the Premier League.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used in these games:

Chelsea – Fluro Yellow, Nike Total 90 Goalkeeper Template

Kit Highlights

No team this week wore their default Home Kit in an Away game, the only team to wear their Home Kit was Aston Villa and they did this in “All Claret” against Brighton & Hove Albion.

There was 5 Away Kits used and 4 3rd Kits.

Chelsea wore their 4th Goalkeeper Kit of the season, and the first time we have seen the “Total 90” Keeper Template in Premier League this season.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, the Total 90 3rd Kit Templates look good, so seeing the Spurs one for the first time in the League was always going to be a winner here.

There were three new kits on show this weekend.

Newcastle United wore their Away Kit with alternative green shorts and alternative white socks.

Fulham wore their 3rd Kit for the first time this season.

Liverpool wore their Away Kit with alternative black socks.

Manchester United – Yellow Adidas Template

Kit Highlights

Newcastle United wore their 6th Kit Variation of the season, the joint highest in the Premier League of the season, this was also the 3rd different look used for their Away Kit!

Both Fulham and Liverpool wore their 5th Different Kit looks of the season this weekend, Fulham wore their 3rd Kit for the first time and Liverpool wore a second different variation of their Away, with alternative Black Socks.

Manchester United made it 4 different Goalkeeper Kits in their last 4 games, with the use of the Yellow Adidas Template, this games was also the first defeat for Crystal Palace in their Home Kit this season.

Sunderland remain undefeated in their Home Kit this season, winning 5 and drawing 3 of the 8 games it has been worn in total.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Sunderland and Bournemouth, who used their wonderful Away Kit for just the second time this season, having worn it in the opening game of the season.

There were three Kit variations used in this Matchweek, all Away Kits.

Brentford have launched a special-edition shirt in collaboration with the band Hard-Fi, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the group’s Stars of CCTV album, the band’s frontman Richard Archer is a Brentford fan and season ticket holder. It has also been confirmed that the club will NOT wear this shirt in a game.

We are still waiting for news confirming the Chelsea / Oracle Front of shirt sponsorship, watch this space for updates.

There was just the one new Kit on show this weekend.

West Ham United wore their Away Kit with alternative “Ecru” shorts.

Kit Highlights

West Ham United in their 5th Kit Variation of the season, this is the joint-second highest in Premier League this season (Aston Villa in 6, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also with 5).

Crystal Palace wore their Home Kit in an Away Game for the first time this season, this was their 6th Away game of the season, wearing their 3rd Kit in four games and Away once!

Brentford continue to wear change kits in all their Away games this season, wearing their Away for the 3rd time this season, having worn their 3rd kit in their other 3 Away games.

Chelsea wore their Away for the 2nd time this season and again with alternative shorts and socks, they have yet to wear this kit in it’s default look (“Ecru” shorts / Green socks) in any competition including the World Club Cup, which is 8 games in total.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Leeds United and Aston Villa, Villa in All Claret is one of my favourite kit looks, so when this is used it will always be one I keep an eye on!

The Chelsea front of shirt sponsorship has been an interesting topic over the past few seasons with them carrying no sponsor in the majority of the games over this period, however that appears to be changing in the coming days with rumours of a deal with Oracle (US Software company). It has been reported that sponsorship will start as quick as next with high profile games against Barcelona in Champions League and Liverpool in Premier League – full details can be found here via Footy Headlines

There were two new kit looks on show this weekend.

Fulham wore alternative black shorts with their Home Kit.

Burnley wore their Away Kit with Home socks for an all Sky Blue look.

Newcastle United 3rd Kit with alternative orange shorts and socks.

There was one new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Manchester United – Green Adidas Template

Kit Highlights

Fulham wore their 3rd different Home Kit look of the season (4th overall), with alternative black shorts at Everton.. they have worn their default (All White) look six times and with alternative black socks once.

Burnley’s Green Goalkeeper kit becomes the first kit to be worn 10 times this season, having been worn in 10 of the 11 opening games of the season. Overall Burnley worn their 4th Kit of the season this weekend, having worn a mash up of Away with Home Socks.

Crystal Palace and Sunderland both remain undefeated in their Home Kits this season so far, with Sunderland wearing their Home look in 7 games (4 wins / 3 draws) and Crystal Palace in 6 games (2 wins / 4 draws) – Arsenal are also unbeaten in their Home Kit but did not wear it this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Sunderland and Arsenal, the Arsenal Away with it’s red trim give a nice overall balance to the kit looks on show.

The Premier League has now past the quarter stage of the season and we are taking our usual look at the Kits worn this weekend, Saturday 1st November to Monday 3rd November 2025.

There were three new kit looks on show this weekend.

Manchester United, 3rd Kit with alternative yellow socks.

Chelsea in their Home Kit with alternative blue socks.

Aston Villa in their 3rd Kit

There was also three new Goalkeeper Kits used this weekend:

Leeds United – Pink Adidas Template
Arsenal – Yellow Adidas Trefoil Template
Aston Villa – Black Adidas Trefoil Template

Kit Highlights

This weekend seven of the Away teams wore 3rd Kits, with only one Away Kit and two Home Kits on show, with Chelsea wearing an alternative look with blue socks.

Arsenal used their 6th different Goalkeeper Kit look of the season (10 games), wearing the yellow Trefoil Template, this was the 3rd different colour goalkeeper kit used in their 3rd Kits three outings and the 2nd different yellow goalkeeper kit used.

Wolverhampton Wanderers used their 3rd Kit for 3rd time this season, also having used their Away Kit once, this means they have worn change kits for as many times as they did in total last season in their opening 10 games of the season.

AFC Bournemouth lost their first game of the season in their Home Kit, this was the 8th game (out of 10) wearing the Kit winning five and drawing two of the first seven games using this look, they were also the only Away team to wear their default Home Kit this weekend.

My favourite “Kit Match Up” of the Matchweek was the game between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, two nice looking kits and with Manchester United in contrasting socks (as regular readers will know one of my favourite kit looks), this was always going to be a winner this week.
